My 2012 New Year’s Resolution

The jokey (I think) one is to avoid near-death-experiences accompanied by ambulance rides.  I had two of those in 2011, and neither was a good time.

The serious side of that is that I am lucky to be here (we all are) but especially after my car accident in September, I am really lucky to be here.  The only explanation for why I wasn’t killed that day is because God just didn’t have my number.

I am trying to remember how lucky I am and to be grateful for all the small things.  Currently the small things include being cozy on my couch next to the lit up Christmas tree (which I take down on January 6, Epiphany, when the Three Wise Men showed up), sleepy after a really wonderful weekend, with my dog who has a really bad case of flatulence right now.

Um, on the balance, two out of three isn’t bad.
