I just caught up on the last two episodes of How I...
while folding laundry (let’s not talk about how much time elapsed between when I DID this laundry and when I folded it) … cue tears while folding laundry. Luckily, Mowgli came to the rescue and licked my face for me but he seems a little confused as to how a TV show made me cry.

My BFF's grandmother passed away this week
As I was calling around to florists to find one to send a sympathy bouquet, my first question was whether they used carnations or baby’s breath. I do not believe either one has a rightful place in a classy bouquet. (On a side note, her grandmother lived well into her 90s, was healthy and attending Bulls games until the end, and had a stroke last week and went relatively quickly and...

Post 1,000
In honor of my 1,000th post, I am going to post 10 really random facts (I blatantly stole this from tinytortfeasor, who did the same thing yesterday). Ten Really Random Facts I don’t use a lot of slang, but I do swear.  A lot. Asparagus either does not make my pee smell funny OR I am unable to smell the chemical in asparagus that makes one’s pee smell funny.  The only way I can find...

Best Start to A Monday Recently
I got to work earlier than normal and I had my most favorite breakfast ever - cold leftover pizza. I know it’s kind of a college student breakfast but oh, was it a good way to start the week.

F.B.I. and Police Arrest More Than 100 in Mob... →
ohhleary: fuckyeahrhodeisland: In a blanket assault against seven mob families in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island, the F.B.I. and local authorities began arresting close to 130 people on Thursday on charges including murder, racketeering and extortion, federal law enforcement officials said. And the ones arrested from Rhode Island? Charged with extorting money from strip clubs. YOU...

Here is a good way to make a mess
Step 1: Knock a half-full bottle of balsamic vinegar from the kitchen counter onto the tile floor, where it shatters. No Step 2 necessary.

The Duck Pillows Came!
My living room is instantly more awesome than it was yesterday. Duck pillows: Virginia Johnson Photobomb: Mowgli Weird thing in the lower left hand corner of the rug:  Mowgli’s deer antler that he likes to chew on. Do you like the pillows? I used to have a healthy interest in purchasing clothes and shoes.  Currently it has evaporated in favor of spending money on home design.

More Home Design Questions
West Elm is having a lighting sale this weekend.  I know I am a renter but I hate the massive, ugly excuse for a “chandelier” that hangs over my dining room table, right at head height. What do you guys think of this? (Click through link, for pendant lamp in photo above) I have a handyman who can install it for $40 for me.  Is it ridiculous to have someone pay $40 to install a lamp...

Mowgli and I went shopping earlier
at the corner market, because I got an emergency project that prevented me from making it to Publix before they closed at 4 PM. We now have bacon, wine, and Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA.  We have plenty of cheese and chocolate in the house already.  I’m fairly certain we can survive a lot of things with these sort of provisions.

Good Thing I Enjoyed My Snow Morning While It...
… because our weekly workload report just went out (showing which attorneys are working on what projects) and since I was not busy at all people are now dumping work on me. At least I have a super-sweet home office in which to work all day.

Snow Day, Part 2
Stay in bed until almost 11 because it’s just so cozy under the sheets (read the news on your Droid). Pet Mowgli for as long as he’ll let you before insisting he go out.  Finally emerge from bed. Let Mowgli play in the snow until you start to freeze. Come inside and lounge on the couch drinking coffee and eating toasted prairie bread (lots of yummy seeds in that one) with fig...

Mowgli and I had an America's Funniest Home Videos...
He smelled terrible after his return from doggy day care tonight, so into the bath it was. I don’t know what happened, but suddenly 62 pounds of dog lost their footing … and Mowgli slid down the tub on his back, legs in the air, like a dead bug. I then had to coax a terrified dog who was covered in soap suds back into the tub.  Pro tip:  entice him with some cheese. I am still...

I am working on a client advisory
about an act called the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. The acronym is GINA. I am thinking about a part of the female anatomy, and giggling to myself. Maturity continues to elude me.

You can also sign Powers of Attorney for each other which would allow you each to designate the other to make important medical decisions on each others’ behalf. A little help from your lawyer friend :) racd: Ha. As a side note - actually, kind of just a reminder to myself - one of the benefits of getting married sooner rather than later is avoiding the need to create a will. While...

2011 Changes
Among one of the things I changed in 2011 was my morning coffee habit.  Instead of drinking the foul Flavia coffee at work (which I can only choke down if it has the “creamy topping” aka fake chemical cappucino and about three sugars) I decided to brew my own coffee this year. Of course this hit a little snag when I discovered my Keurig was dead, but $25 later I was the proud owner of...

Painting
The best part of painting is when you peel the blue tape off the trim and screw the outlet and light switch covers back on and see what your handiwork really looks like. I think I am using painting various rooms in my house as some form of therapy.  Although it’s almost certainly cheaper than the real thing. My new sectional comes tomorrow!
