The highlight of my day
I walked along the Pacific (from just south of the Venice pier to the Santa Monica pier, and back, probably about 5 miles) with an old friend, barefoot, in the sand. The downside of a food diary
I tallied up everything I ate today. Book Club had Southern cuisine because we discussed The Help.
I went just a little over my calorie budget today. By about 800 calories. This is why I need to keep a food diary - so when I am tempted to nibble on a mini pig in a blanket or the like before an already unhealthy dinner, I am able to say no. Also, alcohol calories add up. Fast.

Bad Diet Ideas
Do not under any circumstances chew most of a pack of sugarless gum when you get really hungry in the afternoon and there are no acceptable diet friendly snacks around. Your tummy will NOT thank you.

Interesting Next Day
So I wrote about my interesting night last night here and I now have an update.
He called me today and we spoke for an hour. Neither of us have heard from our mutual friend. We still aren’t sure if she is mad at us or what. I tried to gchat her and she signed off as soon as I said hi - but not sure if that was purely coincidental or what. We also aren’t sure if she has feelings...
Interesting Night
Went to a friend’s birthday at the type of bar where you sit with your friends and don’t expect to meet anyone. After an hour or so a very tall man in a fabulous coat walked up to our party and I just thought to myself, who IS that? Turns out he was her friend who I always hear about but had never met (and he complimented my “amazing legs” in my faux leather leggings).

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a “rip roaring” case of tendonitis and a sprain in my left foot. The doctor told me to stay off my feet as much as possible, to give up heels, and no running (or any cardio really) for the next three to four weeks. I was crushed and sad and felt really, really disappointed.
See, I started this whole blog as a way to track my weight loss progress...
Awake.
I have suffered from insomnia on and off throughout my life, and to combat it I have adopted a very strict sleep hygiene regimen. My bed is reserved strictly for sleeping, sex, or being extremely sick. I don’t hang out in my room except to sleep or put laundry away. I do not read in bed - I hang out on my couch until I am ready for sleep and only then do I get in bed.

The latest Match disaster
So, I had been emailing back and forth with a very cute gentleman from Match, and he called me yesterday. We talked for 20 minutes or so and at the end he asked if I was free to go to happy hour this week. I actually have a very busy week coming up so I said, truthfully, I am free Monday and Friday. He said he might have to work on Monday but would call me around lunchtime Monday to let me know...

Cleaning House
I’ve decided that I need to purge my ex from my space (after nearly 2.5 roller-coaster years) and one way to do this is to get new bedding, although my bedding is currently about 4 years old and needs replacing anyway because it is getting old and nasty.

Things that Disgust Me
There is this couple I go to school with. They are not who I ever would have put together in my mind. They constantly write on each other’s facebook wall. The last wall-to-wall post, which appeared on my news feed, was in another language, which neither of them speak, but Google translate tells me it was about how they have sex in the library.
I am sooooo grossed out.
Ridiculous.
I am in my last semester of law school. Last semester I could barely convince myself to do anything AT ALL, even during finals. I watched a lot of TV and played on Tumblr and stuff and went out every night during finals but very little work got done.
Fall semester grades came out today. I got a 4.0. WTF?
This pretty much guarantees that I will do less than nothing this semester.
